NYC McDonald’s employee shot dead over fries is brain dead, accused shooter held without bail
The McDonald’s worker who was shot in the neck over cold fries is brain dead and on life support, prosecutors said Thursday, as a Brooklyn judge ordered his alleged attacker to be held without custody. bail.
Michael Morgan, 20, is set to face upgraded homicide charges for Monday’s Bedford-Stuyvesant shooting, in which he allegedly lambasted victim Matthew Webb, 23, shortly after an argument over fries served at the suspect’s mother, prosecutors said.
“Your Honor, people are expecting a homicide charge in this case given that the victim is currently on life support. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital and is brain dead,” a Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Luis Paternina told Judge Inga O’Neale during Morgan’s attempted murder arraignment.
“The family must now make the difficult decision [to take him off life support].”
Morgan, handcuffed behind his back, looked down during the brief procedure and did not speak.
Webb was working at the Fulton Street restaurant on Monday night when Morgan’s mother, Lisa Fulmore, complained to workers that her fries were cold and asked to speak to a manager.
When the workers started making fun of her, Fulmore was FaceTiming with Morgan, who came to the restaurant and argued with Webb who spilled onto the sidewalk.

Morgan punched Webb in the face and when he got up he pulled out a gun and punched him in the neck, prosecutors said.
The suspect’s girlfriend, Camellia Dunlap, was also charged with possession of weapons in connection with the case after she allegedly turned the gun over to Morgan before the shooting, prosecutors said. She was arraigned later Wednesday and held on $50,000 cash bond, after prosecutors said she admitted to owning the gun.
Morgan was taken into custody at his home Monday night and after hours of questioning confessed to the shooting and an unrelated 2020 homicide a few blocks from McDonald’s that left 28-year-old Kevin Holloman dead , according to prosecutors.
Holloman was outside an apartment building on Herkimer Street with his cousin in October when Morgan allegedly shot him, prosecutors said.

Days before, Morgan and Holloman’s cousin had gotten into an altercation and when the relative pulled out a knife to cut some marijuana, the suspect ran out of the apartment and began shooting, prosecutors said.
The cousin was not hit, but Holloman was punched three times and later died at the Interfaith Hospital, prosecutors said.
“He was the nicest kid. He wasn’t like these little thugs running around here. He was so polite. He was always chasing girls. That was it. Chasing girls, making jokes,” Domingo Rivera, a former longtime neighbor of Holloman, told The Post on Thursday.
“[He] was a good boy. He never had any trouble. He was always dancing and joking.

Rivera, 57, referred to Holloman by his nickname “Keybo” and said that after he was murdered, his mother quickly fell ill and died.
“I’m glad they got it,” Rivera said of Morgan.
Holloman’s sister told the Post Thursday that the arrest was bittersweet.
“I’m glad justice is served, but it won’t bring my brother back,” Gardenia Holloman said.
“We knew who it was, it was already a suspect. We had a witness who was there when it happened. He was already identified. Prosecutors said that was not enough.
Morgan is charged with murder in the 2020 murder and was held without bond in both cases. He is due back in court on August 8. Relatives of Morgan and Webb could not immediately be reached for comment.
