Salivating for fresh sweet corn?
Want to sample locally grown vegetables like carrots, kale and cucumbers?
Southern Tier Farmers Markets are ready to supply.
Fresh produce season is the tasty peak of New York State’s $6 billion-a-year farming industry. More than 400 farmers’ markets, 250 farm stands and 10 mobile markets across New York sell everything from locally grown produce, certified organic meats and artisan-created items like goat’s milk fudge and soaps, according to the state Department of Agriculture.
Many markets enhance the shopping experience with live music and family tents with crafts for children. Markets also connect sailors to local agriculture – a true farm-to-table experience.
